Play is not a luxury
Play is a necessity

All children should have the right to play. Unfortunately, spatial injustice already starts early on. The basic requirements to play are permission and safe spaces to play. But for many children, growing up in fast growing mega cities, where public space is increasingly privatised, taken over by cars, or fenced, this is unattainable.
In many cases it is ONLY a privileged minority of children that actually has access to safe spaces to play such as shopping malls, clubs or cafes with playgrounds.
I believe children in megacities should NOT need to PAY TO PLAY. Together with all social architects, activists and urbanists, worldwide, we are dedicated to creating free spaces where all children can play.
