Description
Bringing back simple diversity and re-used materials, in play areas, even in the center of Amsterdam.
Challenge
Task to renovate traditional playground in center of Amsterdam. Budgets to replace one large play element.
Process
Neighborhood participation pointed out the need for more diverse play, instead of ready made play-elements. Places to meet, places to invent children’s own play.
Result
By creatively managing the budgets, and divide it into several smaller simple elements inviting for play, we managed to upgrade the whole play-area into a more child-friendly and neighborhood meeting place.
