Description
Design place to play for this school on a temporary location and a unique vision on education.
The wishes for this new school in a newly built development, were simple: integrate nature into an open play area, in which children are in the lead of their play & developmental needs. The area has been designed to follow children’s natural flow & growth. Construction finalised planned for 2026.
Challenge
Temporary location with two areas:
A semi-public space forming the ‘facade’ of the school and the link with the neighborhood
Hardly any budgets for this part.
An enclosed schoolyard was designed more traditional.
Process
De school had lef! Ik mocht experimenteren, en marktplaats gebruiken. Mijn visie op ontwerpen voor spel - waarbij ik zo min mogelijk wil definieren, zoveel mogelijk ruimtes schep voor het eigen spel van kinderen - sluit goed aan bij de onderwijsvisie.
Result
Een echt speellandschap, met grote kabelhaspels, oude meerpalen en hoogteverschillen, inspireert kinderen hun eigen spel te maken. In de lente tussen het wilde bloemen mengsel. Tijdelijk? Of blijft het zo?
